Pro Pool Management and Service, Inc. is proud to be an Authorized Provider of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program. We offer classes throughout the winter and during the summer for both lifeguarding and lifeguard instructor.

New Lifeguard Course

Pro Pool Management is an American Red Cross Authorized Provider, and requires all employees to be certified in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid.  Completing one of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training courses will provide you with all of the required certifications.


Pre-Course Skills Test:
This skills evaluation will take place upon arrival to the course and consists of:

  • Swim-Tread-Swim Sequence – The participant must swim 150 yards continuously only using freestyle or breast-stroke swimming. Immediately after the 150-yard swim, the participant must tread water for 2 minutes using only their legs, then continue to swim another 50 yards.
  • Brick dive – The participant must swim 20 yards, submerge to a depth of 7-10 ft., retrieve a 10lb. object, and swim the object back to the starting point while keeping his/her face out of the water in 1 min. 40 sec.

**A cancellation/refund fee of $30.00 will be applied to anyone who wishes to get a refund when they cancel a class. A NO SHOW fee of the full class amount will be applied to anyone who does not does show up for class, or anyone who cancels without a full weeks notice. You MUST attend all 3 classes in order to get certified if you are a NEW lifeguard**

What is Blended Learning?

In a Pro Pool blended learning course, you will immerse yourself into an all inclusive Lifeguard program!

There will be a required 7 hours of online course work to be completed no later than the Thursday prior to your class date. Failure to complete this online portion of your class will result in removal from that class. You will gain valuable information online that will allow you to succeed in person. Not every Lifeguard class provided is a blended learning format. If a class is blended learning, it will be specified on course number.

Items to Bring to Class

  • Age verification – Instructors will be checking for a state issued ID or birth certificate prior to the start of class – participants must be 15 on or before the last day of the class. If you would like to submit this ahead of time, you can email your proof of age to contactus@swimpropool.com
  • Payment – Cash or check made payable to Pro Pool. If you are needing to pay by debit/credit card please do so online. The instructors do not have this capability.
  • Waiver – The participant must have a signed waiver prior to the start of class. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must sign for you.
  • Swimsuit & Towel – Females- any one piece suit or Pro Pool issued two piece only.
  • Lunch/Dinner/Snacks – There will be a 30 minute dinner break – typically there is not enough time to leave the facility and it is recommended that the participant bring lunch and snacks each day.
  • Water Bottle – You can refill this throughout the day. Soda and other sugar filled drinks are not allowed due to the level of activity you are performing.

    Lifeguard Review Course

    The purpose of this course is to help participants achieve re-certification in Lifeguard Training without having to take the full content course.

    This review course includes First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.

    Please note that all participants MUST be currently certified in lifeguarding. Participants are required to show proof of this training prior to the start of class.

      Lifeguard Instructor Course

      Lifeguard Instructors are responsible for running the training courses that we offer to our employees. In order to qualify, you must be at least 17 years of age and currently certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, and AED. If you are successful in teaching certification classes for Pro Pool, half of the cost of your certification course will be refunded to you!

      You must attend all three dates for this course.

          First Aid/CPR/ AED Class for Businesses

          This course is designed to train participants to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies, helping to provide a safer workplace.

          Pro Pool will come to your place of business and train employees in the skills of First Aid, CPR, and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The course time is approximately 6 hours (time may vary based upon the number of participants).

          How to Become A Lifeguard

          WE’RE HIRING! – We are currently looking for 2023 summer lifeguards, managers, assistant managers and pool attendants.

          Becoming a Lifeguard can be a lucrative and fun experience. You are outdoors the vast majority of the time, you are taught lifesaving skills, and you learn and develop leadership skills in your new position.

          We here at Pro Pool love hiring young, driven individuals and working with them to become the type of employee that we want to come back and work for Pro Pool for many summers.

          After the application process is complete, you will be contacted by your manager to begin pool cleaning and preparation for opening in the summer. If you applied to be a manager or an assistant manager, we will be contacting you for an interview.

          Our application is done completely online, all you have to do is fill it out, review it to be sure that everything is correct, and then hit submit.

          Choose a class that fits your schedule

          Our certification classes have very limited space within them, due to restrictions on Teacher to Student ratios. That means the earlier you sign up, the better the chance that you will get in the class of your choice. Once you sign up, you MUST attend THAT specific class. You cannot sign up for one class and expect to attend a different class. These are very specific. If you do not notify us of a cancellation at least 72 hours prior to the beginning of the class, you will NOT be refunded.

          Sign Up for the Class

          Make sure that you have the COURSE NUMBER of the class of your choice ready. You will need this to complete the form.

          Get the Waiver of Liability Form

          You MUST bring the Waiver of Liability with you to the class. If you do not bring it, you will be asked to leave. Your money will not be refunded. The Waiver of Liability MUST be signed by an adult. We cannot legally accept a signature of someone under 18 years of age. If you are under 18, either your parent or a legal guardian can sign in your stead.

          5.
          Fill out the W-4 Form

          The W-4 form is required by the United States Government for tax reasons, and your employment is conditional upon it. Have your parents, or a legal guardian assist you in completing it. If you are still having problems, do not be frustrated, it is very confusing. Feel free to contact us. Once you have completed this form please return it to the Pro Pool office.

          Fill out the I-9 Form

          The I-9 is also a form required by the United States Government that verifies that you are an American Citizen eligible for employment within the United States. We must have this form before you can work for us. Once you have completed this form please return it to the Pro Pool office.

          7.
          15 Year Old Employees

          A work permit will need to be obtained from your school, filled out and turned into the Pro Pool office. Once we receive it, we will fill out the Employer portion of the form and return it to you so you can have your school fill out the remaining portion of the form. Once the form is completed by all parties, you will need to return it to the Pro Pool office.
